Return to Play ASNB 2021
Participants (players, coaches, captains, umpires, and spectators)
At anytime within 2m a mask is mandatory
Every Person participating must maintain 3 meters from anyone person when not from same household
Team bench must be equal to the amount of physical distancing of 2m.
25% spectator capacity. Please avoid inviting spouses or family members where possible.
Maximum Individuals at the diamond 35 individuals again please limit the spectators to a minimum
Face coverings must be warn at all times if within 2m of each other. Unless from the same household
NO SINGING/ CHANTING/ CHEERING OR YELLING
NO SPITZ, SUNFLOWER SEEDS/ CHEWING TABACCO/ GUM or spitting
Not recommended to share bats, please sanitize where possible.
No sharing of water bottles between Umpires and or players and refillable water bottles are strongly recommended.
ALL PLAYERS MUST remain 3m apart when not playing on the field unless from same household
PLEASE DO NOT ARRIVE MORE THAN 15 MINUTES BEFORE YOUR GAME
PLEASE REMAIN IN YOUR CAR UNTIL THE DIAMOND IS FREE FOR YOUR GAME
AFTER YOUR GAME PLEASE LEAVE THE FACILITY IN A TIMLY FASHION NO CONGREGATING IN THE PARKING LOT
Player’s Equipment
ACTIVE SCREENING WILL BE MANDATORY TEAM REPS WILL BE RESPONIBLE TO CHECK THEIR PLAYERS IN AND SCREEN FOR COVID 19.
THERE WILL BE NO SUBSTITUE PLAYERS FROM OTHER TEAMS YOU MUST PLAY SHORT OR FORFIET THE GAME
CAPTAINS SHOULD WIPE DOWN BENCHES AND OPENINGS TO DUGOUTS BEFORE AND AFTER THE GAME SUPPLIED BY YOUR TEAM
Screening (Contact Tracing) is mandatory for all team personnel, administrators, umpires and spectators.
Captains will be responsible to keep track of their players behaviors and following covid protocols
Captains will submit scores and rosters to [email protected] after everygame both teams must comply
Captains will be responsible for bringing cleaning supplies
Key Notes:
Non-medical face masks including gaiters/bandannas are highly recommended but not mandatory where 3 metres distancing can not be maintained. Catcher/batter/umpire are considered incidental contact so highly recommended but not required. Incidental contact is defined as contact of 15 minutes or less.
UMPIRES
· All Umpires must carry a face mask with them at all times for use whenever may be required. Catcher and Home Plate Umpire
· To ensure a maintenance of safe distance, Umpires will be required to utilize an exaggerated inside/outside slot position as long as the Umpire has the ability to perform their duties as the home plate umpire from these positions.
· To ensure a maintenance of safe distance, Umpires will be required to utilize an exaggerated inside/outside slot position as long as the Umpire has the ability to perform their duties as the home plate umpire from these positions.
· In situations where appropriate distance cannot be accommodated (for example, due to field size), Umpires may be required to wear masks.
Other
ALL DOUBLE HEADERS WILL BE AGAINST THE SAME TEAM TO LIMIT EXPOSURE BETWEEN TEAMS IN A SINGLE WEEKEND
KEEPING SCORE- WE WILL NOT BE EXCHANGING SCORE BOOKS BUT PLEASE EXCHANGE ORDERS OVER A 3m distance between reps

- Player General Protocols
- No handshakes, team huddles, high fives, etc. not allowed. Suggest a new show of respect for the opposition at safe distance.
- No bat girls/boys permitted
- Ball Control Defensive team will supply their own game balls while in the field to reduce contact with individuals on the opposing team no one on the offensive team to retrieve or touch games ball. Consideration should be made for safe ball retrieval (homeruns, foul balls) defensive team only Game Balls may require consistent sanitization (by team every half inning) consider how often for practices. Put more game balls into play and have a designated person on each bench “sanitize” the game ball. This would require clean water and soap. Foul ball must be retrieved by the defensive team only Each team is responsible for cleaning their games balls between innings and will be the supplier of the same while on defense, umpires will not handle the balls at any point.
- Tag Plays and Sliding
- Incidental contact, such as tagging or sliding into a base, is considered part of the game and is permitted.
- BASE COACHES ARE PERMITTED BUT MUST MAINTAIN 3m distance. Recommend not coaching on the opposing teams baseline
Player’s Equipment
- No gloves to be on fence, player’s bags to be distanced, no bringing out gloves, batting gloves.
- Players should be reminded to reduce the amount of shared equipment and attempt to keep each individuals equipment isolated to reduce coming into contact with the equipment of other players. Protective Face Masks/Helmets
- There should be no sharing of protective face masks or helmets at any time. Face Masks/Gators/Bandanas
- Face coverings for the purpose of reducing potential virus transmission are recommended but not mandatory as long as physical distancing can be maintained.
